What is Protection?

Protection ( aka close-protection and executive protection) is the STRUCTURED SECURITY employed to protect an individual PROTECTEE from harm and embarrassment. Protection is employed through the use of a “DETAIL” or group of individuals specifically tasked to protect the named individual, or “protectee”. By utilizing the principle of “KNOWN TO KNOWN”, the detail creates a continuous zone of protection around the protectee that moves with the protectee at all times.

What Protection Is....

Protection can best be understood by the standing protection principle of “KNOWN TO KNOWN” as implemented by a team of agents, called a “detail”. A protectee is guarded within an area of known parameters of risk, and moves when required to another area of known parameters of risk.

While threat and risk are never eliminated, the security protocols and methodologies in the form of a PROTECTION DETAIL, site advancing, motorcades and armed agents become a bubble of known and acceptable risk that continuously adjusts to situations and activity to keep the protectee safe from harm and embarrassment.

Under an emergency situation, the protection detail’s primary job is to move the protectee out of the danger area away from threat, getting the protectee “OFF THE X”.

What Protection is Not...
